We are committed to providing essential services, including nourishing meals, warm clothing, safe shelter, and our Journey of Hope Life Change program tailored for men, women, and mothers with children.

HALO became its own 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization

2008

HALO Bargain Center opened in September 2008. In 2010, we moved to our current location – 701 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD 21804

2009

After 2 years of temporary shelters, our year-round Women and mothers with Children’s emergency shelter opened.

2010

HALO Cafe Opened & HALO Bargain Center moved to a bigger location (711 Snow Hill Road)

2011

The Resource & Respite Center opened

2012

HALO Garden was planted

2013

Journey of Hope Long-Term, Life Change program for Women was started

2014

our year-round Men’s Emergency shelter opened

2015

Journey of Hope Long-Term, Life Change Program for Men was started

2017

Purchase of Center of Hope property at 119 South Boulevard with vision of expanding all of our services

2018

Purchase of the Thrift Store property at 701 Snow Hill Road with the vision of expanding

2019

Expansion to the Men’s Shelter with the addition of showers was started

2020

Construction to the Men’s Shelter continued

2021

The expansion of the Men’s Emergency Shelter, showers and laundry room was completed.

2022

Construction of the homeless Community Laundromat began

2023

Newly constructed homeless Community Laundromat opened
