Volunteers are the heart of HALO!
When you give the gift of your heart – people change
The recipients of that change:
- Our Guests
HALO has been richly blessed with compassionate individuals who serve our guests faithfully. We are so thankful for their dedication and impact they have on those we serve at HALO. Volunteer opportunities exist in every area of HALO.
To get started and become a major life changer, you will need to attend a HALO 101 orientation class.
It is held the 4th Sunday of each month (except December) the class takes you on a journey down the HALO path. You will see how we got our start, learn how we grew, where we are going and the impact HALO is having on this community

How To Volunteer
A volunteer experience at HALO includes a meaningful connection that directly impacts the guest we serve. When you volunteer with HALO, you will be with other volunteers in that ministry area.
College and High School Student Volunteers
Many students seeking volunteer opportunities to fulfill required community service hours for school and/or college are volunteering with HALO. At HALO, we are purposeful in placing volunteers and intentional in providing a well-rounded experience and education about homelessness.
Court Ordered Volunteers
Court ordered volunteers are able to volunteer with HALO.
Placement is limited to HALO’s Thrift Ministry.
HALO welcomes community/civic groups, school groups, families, work groups and many other groups to volunteer together at HALO. If you have a group that would like to volunteer, please download the group application and send it to HALO. Our group volunteer coordinator will contact you.
All volunteers are scheduled in advance through our Volunteer Coordinator. We do not offer drop-in/last minute volunteer opportunities.
It should also be noted, that we may or may not be able to accommodate all or part of required hours due to availability and needs within our ministry at that time.
